The Prior
About Us
The Prior are a new rock band from Manchester And London. Their music blends together threads of folk, country, and Americana to craft a sound that feels both timeless and nostalgic. With a deep reverence for the golden era of 70s rock, their music channels the essence of bands like Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles.
The band features Ruby Cooke on lead vocals, Will Joseph on lead guitar and vocals, Milo Jack on rhythm guitar, Jago Forster on drums, and Ben Mockler on bass.
The Prior released their debut, self-titled EP in February 2026. Featuring songs such a “Be Your Girl”, a haunting heartbreak anthem steeped in classic rock sensibilities, the band laid the foundations of their constant evolving sound. With gritty guitar lines, lush harmonies, and a touch of country soul, their music captures the bittersweet drama of longing and loss with a modern edge.
Their latest single "Fault Line" signals a new artistic direction for the band. A song about fighting for a relationship you know is beyond saving, it explores the battle of holding onto hope when heartbreak is around the corner. Combining driving rock rhythms with sweeping folk-inspired strings, it's the bands most ambitious and emotionally honest release yet.
